An idyllic detached character chalet bungalow, situated in beautiful Devon countryside, set in a peaceful country lane in the picturesque village of Axmouth. Two local inns are a short stroll away.  A lovely level mile long walk along the riverside to the pretty Axe Harbour, magnificent mile long beach with Esplanade, with views to the cliffs and Jurassic coastline, golf course and all amenities of Seaton.

The local shops, supermarkets, cafes, restaurants and pubs are all to hand. Travel on the famous Seaton tramway along the Axe Valley passing Seaton Marshes and Nature Reserves stopping off at Colyford and the small market town of Colyton.

Just a short walk to the South West Coast Path, in one direction to the picturesque fishing village of Beer, a little further to Branscombe and in the opposite direction to Lyme Regis with famous Cobb and excellent selection of specialist shops. The famous Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall River Cottage Canteen at Axminster is under a 15-minute drive.    A perfect base to explore this interesting stunning area on the Devon/Dorset border.

Well-fitted and equipped Kitchen area, electric hob and oven, microwave, larder fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer (in shed).  iron and ironing board,  leading to the Dining area with table and chairs, large floor to ceiling windows overlooking the rear garden and Devon countryside.  Sliding patio doors to large garden.  Outside WC.  Ground floor Bedroom 2: Twin.  Bedroom 3: Double.  Shower room with Shower, basin, WC.  Door from dining area, with stairs to:

First floor, leading straight into carpeted Master Bedroom 1: King, with stunning views over the countryside, en-suite Bathroom: Corner bath with hand shower, basin, WC. Both rooms with limited headroom.  Hair dryer. 

Facilities:  Bed linen inclusive.  Towels, please bring your own or hire, £8 per set (one bath + one hand towel).  Electricity/electric heating inclusive.

Outside:  Large grassed garden with varying levels/terraces and areas including a patio with table and chairs, small ponds and stream, (care with children).

Parking:  Restricted space for 2 standard size parked cars, off lane, in front of garage and side.  Please note one car may partly block the other car in, depending on its size and angle of parking.

A lovely time spent here and very relaxing. Superb location and great walks straight from the door. We enjoyed watching all the =garden visitors particularly the pheasants, song thrushes and butterflies. It was lovely to sit in the garden – didn’t need to go out all the time. Bungalow is very comfortable and well equipped.

Beautiful cottage and spectacular garden. Unbelievable how much equipment in the cottage.  A fan would be very useful for upstairs as it was very hot.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful countryside, enjoyed early morning visits from the pheasant. Lovely wild garden, however ponds and stream need to be visible so you don’t end up in there.  Would love to come back again next year.  Alicia, Joanne, Justine, Harriet, Mason and Oliver – Northampton
