29th July -5th August 2017

What a beautiful old house, plenty of space and character under one roof. The weather has been a mixed bag but it has not stopped us. Sidmouth is a good place to spend the day. Beer is beautiful and well worth a visit and an ice cold drink overlooking the sea. Exeter is not far if you are looking for entertainment for kids, bounce, click and climb, cinema and a good shopping area for some retail therapy.  Waller family – Wales

30th June – 10th July 2017

We have had a great time staying at Gobsore. What a great cottage. Plenty of space for us all. The weather has been fantastic so we have travelled here, there and everywhere checking out various beaches.

Although Torquay is a bit further away we really enjoyed visiting there (we thought much better than Paignton). We also enjoyed Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton, Exmouth, Seaton and Lyme Regis. We also had a short stop off at Beer and Branscombe, although we had a couple of hairy moments on the very narrow road down.

We also took a drive through Dartmoor, stopping off to watch the ponies and to look at Burrator Dam. That was a lovely drive. The area is beautiful with so many classis views, whether coastal, rural or the thatched cottages. We have come a long was but it has been well worth it.  Forbes family – Edinburgh

8-15 April 2017

Places visited this week include:  Honiton, Seaton, Beer, Branscombe, Charmouth, Lyme Regis, Pecorama. We looked for fossils on Charmouth beach and cliffs and visited the fossil shop visitor centre. Weather has been kind to us and no rain but chilly at times.

Gobsore proved to be an ideal location for our extended family to meet up for a 60th birthday celebration. We have enjoyed our week here and the wonderful views over the countryside from the farmhouse. Plenty of room for us all and the large kitchen has been well used for meals and board games in the evenings.

Ate at The Hare and Hounds pub a couple of times up the road towards Sidmouth. Good carvery served all week – worth booking a table as it gets busy.  Robinson family – aged 5 to 60.

Fantastic cottage, good location. Left on Jul 10, 2017 for a stay in Jun 2017

We stayed here for 10 night's and have to say this cottage was fab. It was spacious and comfortable with all mod cons. 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a downstairs toilet. I thought the beds were very comfortable. Huge kitchen and 2 reception rooms. Also an inner courtyard connecting a utility room. Plenty of parking and a good-sized garden Very close to a good sized Tescos. Would definitely recommend Gobsore. The only criticisms I have are, while the cottage was exceptionally clean, an ashtray had been missed in the courtyard which was a bit off-putting but this was not our main area to congregate, so not a disaster, the WiFi is a bit hit and miss. Upstairs or in the garden seemed to be best for reception. The garden is very nice but with just a bit more upkeep could be spectacular and take the cottage up an extra notch. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are coming to the area.  M Forbes

A 'Devon Delight'

We spent a week at Gob'sore Farmhouse between 13th - 20th August 2016 and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
The instruction leaflet was very detailed but we were unable to locate the property initially as the given nearby landmark of Tesco was so well camouflaged behind trees and hedges that we completely missed it. As we continued up Sidmouth Road the property is almost invisible and the outbuildings unrecognizable from the road. The gate with Gobsore on it was open so we couldn't see that either. However after turning round at the Hare and Hounds a local gentleman sent us back down the road. Trauma over we acessed the key and were delighted on entry to find the property just as the photos had portrayed it.

After a good look round we settled in very quickly. The views from all windows especially the bedrooms are to die for. The kitchen and combined diner was well equipped and spacious. The lounge was comfortable but would benefit from the addition of a cheap DVD player. My wifes' only criticism would be that the curtains were too narrow for the window opening by quite some way which made her feel a little insecure after dark had fallen. The drying room in the attached building was an unexpected bonus albeit we didn't suffer any bad weather or wet clothing. The bedrooms were well served with wardrobe space and drawers with two having direct en suite access if the third bedroom is not in use.

The garden outside the front door is south facing and sunny with outstanding views.

The location of the property is within walking distance of Honiton and is ideal for a number of coastal towns. We visited Sidmouth, Lyme Regis, Seaton, Budleigh Salterton, Exmouth, Dawlish and Exeter. All are no further than a 30 - 45 minute drive and well worth a visit.

Honiton is a lovely place with a few small street markets going on during the week. Parking everywhere was reasonable at £1 per hour.

All in all we as a family would highly recommend Gobsore to anyone thinking of booking.
