27.5.17 Pillar Barn is a lovely, large property. We found it very clean and tidy on our arrival. Finding it was a little bit of a problem as our satnav took us anywhere but in the right area, but we got there eventually. Almost immediately opposite the junction of Harepath Road and Harepath Hill is a group of buildings bordering on to a lay-by, with a driveway coming on to the lay-by; that is the driveway you need to take. It is very quiet but close to the main road for easy access to all local towns and attractions, about a 5 min from Seaton. Although basically on the A3052 there was no noise from the traffic.
There was everything in the Barn that we needed - integral dishwasher, American style fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer (in the garage) parasol (again, found in the garage). There was also a lovely new bbq but, although we had ideal weather, we didn't like to use it.
The beds were extremely comfortable and the showers worked a treat. The little enclosed garden, a little sun trap, was ideal for our dog and she was safe outside. On a negative side, there is no view from the Barn. Had it had a view it would have been fantastic for us with our evening glass of wine, but hey ho, you can't have everything!!!
Lyme Regis, Beer, Sidmouth and Branscombe are absolutely beautiful villages; very picturesque. But in our opinion Seaton was horrible. The town had the appearance of a has-been seaside town. Dogs were not allowed on the main beach nor even on the promenade. We had to walk along the roadside, behind the sea wall, meaning we had no sea view. The beach is pebbles, and very steeply shelving, as are most of the beaches in local towns. Beware of straying into dog ban areas as the wardens are very prolific. The best thing about Seaton was the tramway and the large Tesco store but we didn't go in the Seaton Jurassic, so perhaps that was interesting. Locals told us of 2 lovely dog walks not too far from the Barn, with stunning scenery where dogs can go off the lead, and we left a notice within the Barn for anyone interested. It's not our custom to return to somewhere, preferring to try different areas each year, but had we been ones to return to an area we would have no problem in returning to Pillar Barn. S Schwarz - Germany
13-27 MAY 2017 Lovely house and great weathers. Had a good time too bad we had to go home. The Blacky family from South Germany
Stayed with our friends from Germany and the house is beautiful. Very clean for our arrival. The only thing lacking was a view so we could sit out with our evening glass of wine and admire the countryside. The surrounding area is beautiful. Chris and Ken Sharp – North Wales
10 April 2017 Very enjoyable stay in Pillar Barn. Everything was very clean and presentable. Very easy to get to all the coastal towns. I am sure we will come again. The Hartin family

February 2017 Generous and comfortable family accommodation
'We have had a lovely cosy and comfortable family stay for half term in this beautiful spacious property. It is situated inland but is well positioned to go to either Seaton or Beer and Lyme Regis which we preferred. There is a friendly little village shop with all you could need and The Wheelwright Inn was also very friendly and did us proud one evening. You could walk to both but it's along a bit of a busy road.
We would be happy to come again and would recommend it to friends.' The Wells Family.

19th September 2015 Thank you for a lovely stay at The Pillar Barn, our last minute booking turned out to be a wonderful accommodation in a perfect situation, close to some great places to visit. We would recommend a visit to Beer, Donkey Sanctuary ( pet friendly), Sidmouth, Lyme Regis – try the bakery for lunch and the biggest croissants. Our first visit to this part of Devon/ Dorset and would definitely come back. The Schofield family and dog Laika – Derbyshire
