Axmouth, is an idyllic small village and small harbour, alongside the River Axe near the mouth which flows into the sea, at Lyme Bay.
A lovely level walk along the Estuary to the two popular inns, The Harbour and The Ship, both serving good local food. A superb birdwatchers paradise along the River Axe. Watch the tram meander along the tracks to Colyton.
Walk along the Harbour, passing by local fishing boats bringing their catches of fish to the beach. Have a go at crabbing off the Harbour wall.
For golf enthusiasts there is the Axe Cliff Golf Club situated on Haven Cliff. For serious walkers you can walk part of the famous South West Coastal Path to Lyme Regis.
Walk over the oldest concrete bridge in Britian, built in 1877 into the popular seaside town of Seaton. See the Axe Yacht Club with a number of boats and yachts.
