Elegant Regency seaside town, flanked by the red cliff coastline and green hills of the beautiful Sid Valley, with pebble and sand beaches, and level seafront promenade. Sidmouth has much to offer – an excellent variety of shops, selection of inns, restaurants and cafes. Amenities of golf course, bowling, indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, theatre, cinema, parks and gardens. Famous annual International Folk Festival. Just out of Sidmouth are the Norman Lockyer Observatory and the renowned Donkey Sanctuary.

Sidmouth Attractions

Sidmouth Beach - Town Beach, south facing sand/pebble beach, fairly well sheltered. The Esplanade runs along its entire length.

Jacobs Ladder - sheltered south facing bay of sand/pebbles approximately 1 mile long. Large expanse of sand as tide recedes. Accessed by steps from Connaughts Garden or level path. No dogs 1st May to 30th September on the beach between the foot of the eastern facing access ramp opposite Ham Lane in the east to the western end of the promenade at Jacob's Ladder westward for a distance of 100m in the west.

Weston Mouth, near Sidmouth - Sloping pebble beach, very quiet, part owned by the National Trust. Access by steep cliff top footpath. Approximately one mile from Weston car park. Area of outstanding natural beauty.
Coastal resorts of Budleigh Salterton, Exmouth, Branscombe, Beer and Seaton are all within easy reach.
